What are the best beaches in Rhodes?

We’re not exaggerating when we say that this island has a beach for everyone, from lively tourist hotspots to wild coastal caves. Here’s a taste:

    • Faliraki Beach – One of the most popular on the island, because it ticks all the boxes! Great swimming, sunbathing spots, and plenty of bars nearby.
    • Tsambiki Beach –Lie back in the crystal-clear waters and take in the best of the coast: Golden sands, cliffs, and even a monastery on top of a mountain.
    • Agathi Beach - Warm, soft sands and calm shallow waters make this an ideal beach for your family holiday to Rhodes.
    • St Paul’s Beach - The perfect spot to get dramatic pics as the sun goes down, with spectacular views of the Lindos Acropolis.
    • Prassonissi Beach - This is where water sports fans come to watch and play amongst the strong coastal winds.
    • Anthony Quinn Bay - A piece of movie history, but famous in its own right for emerald waters that are great for snorkelling.

Where is the best nightlife in Rhodes?

If your beach holidays in Rhodes are all about boozy evenings, you’ll want to head to the capital or Faliraki, though the whole island has loads of unique bars set in unusual locations. Here are a few of our faves:

    • Macao, Rhodes - This lush cocktail bar was once a medieval watermill but is now a hotspot for partying in the garden with live DJs.
    • Sticky Fingers, Rhodes - The oldest bar on the island, a favourite of rockers from Rhodes and beyond with plenty of live music.
    • Oasis Beach Bar, Kallitha Beach - Go from laid-back days to long nights of dancing at this cocktail bar built into the caves.
    • Ronda, Elli Beach - Get fancy at this beach bar in an old 1930s bathhouse full of moody lights, perfect for getting those candid holiday pics.

    Things to do in Rhodes

    Don’t myth a thing

No beach holiday in Rhodes is complete without taking in a little of the island’s history, but there’s a whole lot to choose from! Take a tour with Rhodes Experience and you’ll get the lowdown on the acropolis, castles, medieval old town, and tales of ancient wonders.

    Pony up!

The island is the only place you can see adorable Rhodian Ponies, which grow to just four feet tall! Meet these cuties at the Phaethon Association sanctuary for a small entry fee, making it a great day out on cheaper holidays to Rhodes.

    Throw caution to the wind

The East Coast of Rhodes is famous for its water sports, as the breezy conditions make for thrilling rides on the waves. Show off your balance with kite surfing and parasailing, or let the wind do the work on a high-speed inflatable ride.

Home is where the art is

There are lots of independent boutiques and galleries dedicated to local artwork, great for finding something unique to remember your time here. We love the Art Park Rhodes for some cutting-edge contemporary stuff, or the family-run Artistic Village for colourful ceramics and crafts.

    Rhodes Weather

Those that enjoy the sunshine will not be disappointed as the island has high temperatures all through the year, particularly in the summer months. For those wanting a great tan, the best months to visit would be July and August as temperatures regularly reach the high 20's and beyond. You definitely will not need to bring jackets in these months as it definitely will be swim wear season.
